Hydrogen-alkaline water - Where did this health concept come from?

Jerry Robin • Mar 23, 2021

When this idea of drinking alkaline water first came to the U.S. over 20 years ago, many people thought that the water was healthier for you simply because it was higher alkaline than regular water. Lots of anecdotal evidence, but at the time there wasn’t much scientific research.

Originally brought to light through companies selling water ionizers, soon bottled water companies jumped on the bandwagon, figuring to get in on the action. But there is a big difference between freshly-made ionized alkaline water and bottled alkaline water.

After filtration, water ionizers use electrolysis to split the acidic portion of the source water from the alkaline portion. This process also splits some of the hydrogen atoms from the H20, creating an H2 molecular hydrogen gas dissolved in the alkaline water. This H2 was originally thought to be just a benign by-product, but now there are over 1,000 scientific studies and papers that show the H2 to be beneficial in over 170 human disease states, and good for virtually every organ of our body. CLICK HERE for a link to abstracts of over half the studies.

However, bottled alkaline water is just purified water with chemicals in it to make it alkaline. It does not contain any significant level of H2. And, of course, there is the environmental problem of single-use plastic waste with the bottles.

H2 is anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, upregulates production of our own anti-oxidants including glutathione and superoxide dismutase, and many other benefits. So the real benefit of these machines is the H2 - nice that it is alkaline, but H2 is the hero.

In ionization, more H2 is produced the longer the water is in contact with the charged platinum/titanium plates, and greater the electrical charge. So a machine that only has 3 plates at 8.5pH cannot give off as much H2 as a machine with 11 or 13 plates at 9.5 or 10pH. (BTW, you should not drink water above 10 pH).  To learn more, contact me or visit http://www.StopBottledWaterWaste.com.

Contra Dancing
By Jerry Robin 22 Mar, 2021
Great live music, energetic, friendly people of all ages, very social. What's not to like? I've heard New England Contra Dancing described many ways. One of my favorites is “This is what would happen if square dancing and swing dancing had a baby.” Great for both couples and singles - the tradition is to dance with many different partners during the evening, even if you came with someone.

Everyone needs a digital media strategy, and not for the reasons you may expect. In fact, if you think digital strategies are just promotional, think again.
